AL - The question that came during a meeting was if Satan will have a body, will not be from God, but through Clonation. Is this true? Will Satan in anyway get a body?

JOEL - I have never heard the one about Satan getting a body through clonation. In the pre-earth life Satan and his followers were cast out of heaven to earth without receiving a body in any way (Luke 10:18, Rev. 12:4, 9, D&C 29:36-37). They remain spirit beings made in the image of God but are still rebellious and evil. They are desirous of having a mortal body but will never get one.

The Prophet Joseph Smith explained:
"The great principle of happiness consists in having a body. The devil has no body, and herein is his punishment. He is pleased when he can obtain the tabernacle of man, and when cast out by the Savior he asked to go into the herd of swine (Mark 5:6-13), showing that he would prefer a swine's body to having none" (TPJS, p. 181; cf. pp. 297-98).

According to Jacob in the Book of Mormon:
"For behold, if the flesh should rise no more our spirits must become subject to that angel who fell from before the presence of the Eternal God, and became the devil, to rise no more" (2 Ne. 9:8).

If the devil will "rise no more" this means he can never be resurrected, which means he will never have a body. So as far as we know Satan and his followers will remain in this state forever and will be cast into outer darkness, having never received a body; not even by clonation.
