ALEX - Can the living be sealed in the temple to the dead?
Situation Grandmother and Grandfather married for many years. Grandmother a member and endowed. Grandfather not a member and has passed. Can he still be
sealed to the Grandmother while she is still alive?
JOEL - Yes. After a year has passed since the grandfather's death, his temple work can be done(baptism, endowments, etc.) and then she can go to the temple and
have a proxy stand in for her husband and perform the sealing.
The only restriction I know on such situations is if a worthy member dies within one year of a civil marriage, the sealing of the couple may be performed when
one year has passed since the civil marriage.
