CHRISTINA - Can mormon missionaries seek out entertainment on their days off. I know they have at least one day off a week for personal matters?

JOEL - Each mission president makes thier own policies about what kind of entertainment the missionaries can engage in. Most missionaries are encouraged to learn all they can about the people and culture they serve in. They go to museums, parks, theaters, play sports, sight-seeng, etc. Some mission presidents let their missionaries go to movies, others do not. Some let them play any sport they want, others place limits on physical activity to prevent injuries. Generally speaking they should not participate in any activity or entertainment that would be detrimental to their minds, bodies, or spirits; or that would compromise their status as a minister of religion. They only have one day in the week where they can do these things, including taking care of personal needs.
