DIANE - Do members of the LDS who submit ancestors to be sealed, endowed, baptized pay for these? Did the church ever require a payment for sealings, endowments, baptisms? Do members who do the genealogical research for the church pay to do this work?

JOEL - Nobody has ever been required to pay for any of these things. All of this is done on a voluntary basis. The Church covers any costs that might be indirectly related to these activities.
The Church genealogy libraries are free to the members and the general public. The only thing one might have to pay for are any photocopies of records they want to have for themselves. Information about genealogy research can be found at this site.
