ERICKSON - Is there any wicked spirits in the Pre-Existence now?

JOEL - There are many different types of spirits in the pre-mortal world just as there are different personalities in the mortal world. However, all those that we might call "wicked" spirits in the pre-mortal world were cast out with Satan to this earth without obtaining a body (Rev 12:4, D&C 29:36-37).
All those spirits who remained, accepted and were obedient to the conditions of the Plan of Salvation put forth by God. Therefore there are no longer any "wicked" spirits remaining in the pre-mortal world. We choose to be wicked after we get here during this mortal life.(2 Nephi 2:27)

ERICKSON - Why is it never mention in the Book of Mormon the name of brother of Jared (Mahonri Moriancumer)? and in the time of Joseph Smith it is revealed?

JOEL - Actually the name "Moriancomer" is mentioned in the Book of Mormon; the name of a place where Jared and his brother and family pitched their tents:

"And as they came to the sea they pitched their tents; and they called the name of the place Moriancumer; and they dwelt in tents, and dwelt in tents upon the seashore for the space of four years." (Ether 2:13)

As customary anciently, the central settlement of a community was named after a leader, and in this case it was probably named after the Brother of Jared's actual name. Other than this I don't know why his name was not used in the scriptures but revealed later. Here is one possible reason:

Perhaps his name was not mentioned out of respect to Jared, who was the senior leader and founder of the Jaredite people. It was revealed to Joseph Smith through revelation from God through a baby blessing, as a bit of personal information for the benifit of the parents of the child.

Elder George Reynolds has left us this account of the circumstances under which the full name was revealed to the Prophet:
"While residing in Kirtland, Elder Reynolds Cahoon had a son born to him. One day when President Joseph Smith was passing his door he called the prophet in and asked him to bless and name the baby. Joseph did so and gave the boy the name of Mahonri Moriancumer. When he had finished the blessing, he laid the child on the bed, and turning to Elder Cahoon he said, the name I have given your son is the name of the Brother of Jared; the Lord has just shown (or revealed) it to me. Elder William F. Cahoon, who was standing near, heard the Prophet make this statement to his Father; and this was the first time the name of the Brother of Jared was known in the Church in this dispensation."
