JAMIE - In Sunday school and Elder’s Quorum classes I hear comments such as if you have questions ask God he will answer and they give example that’s how we got Doctrine and Covenants Joseph Smith had questions he ask God.My question is as we see there are so many issues going on for example LGBT why not Pres Nelson ask God like Joseph Smith did and tell members God’s commandment regarding LGBT once for all. Instead if any church leader give talk or make comment about LGBT, members jump on them and criticize on social media, these same members follow word of Wisdom but when it comes to LGBT it becomes sensitive subject.

JOEL - It is a very sensitive subject but God and our prophets have already given commandments about it. It's just hard for some members to accept, especially those who fall into that category or who have loved ones that do. They don't like the answer God is giving.

"Some excerpts from the Proclamation on the Family :
All human beings - male and female - are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.
The first commandment that God gave to Adam and Eve pertained to their potential for parenthood as husband and wife. We declare that God's commandment for his children to multiply and replenish the Earth remains in force. We further declare that God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife.
We declare the means by which mortal life is created to be divinely appointed. We affirm the sanctity of life and of its importance in God's eternal plan.
The family is ordained of God. Marriage between a man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity."

There is a good article on the Church website that explains it all
Same-Gender Attraction

Only God can judge where anyone will end up in heaven. It is quite possible that the resurrection will correct the affection for the same sex. Elder Bruce C. Hafen, a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy, made this promise:

"If you are faithful, on resurrection morning -- and maybe even before then -- you will rise with normal attractions for the opposite sex."

Which means during the Millennium they will be able to be sealed to someone of the opposite sex and eventually obtain exaltation in the highest kingdom of heaven.

The prophets do continue to ask God for more revelation about this, but there's not much more that can be said about it at this time. God gives us revelation line upon line as we are ready to receive it, not necessarily at the moment we ask for it. LGBT members can be fully active temple attending members if they live the law of chastity as the church has defined it. All people should be treated with love and kindness and respect whatever their sexual orientation is.
