JOEMER - In matthew there is a verse stated that jesus is the son of david..is that true??

JOEL - That is true. Verse 1 says:
"The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham." (Matt. 1: 1)

In the scriptures the title "son" can be another word for "descendant". The first book of Matthew reports the genealogy of Jesus from Abraham down to David and to Joesph, husband of Mary, who gave birth to Jesus.
Of course God the Father was the literal father of Jesus. However, though not a blood descendant of David through Joseph, Jesus inherited legal status as a son of David through His earthly father. Because Joseph was not the literal father of Jesus, Mary must also have been a literal descendant of David, otherwise Jesus could not have been described as a descendant of David in the flesh:

"Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;" (Romans 1: 3, Luke 1: 26-27).

Mary was called a cousin to Elizabeth, believed to be of the lineage of David (Luke 1:36, 1:5) and she is also believed to have been a cousin to her husband Joseph, therefore making her also a blood descendant of David.
The Jews expected the Messiah to belong to David's lineage. The Prophets had foretold that a son (descendant) of David would restore Israel's kingdom to its former greatness (see Isa. 11:1-9; Jer. 23:5-6).

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS." ( Jer. 23:5-6, see also Isa. 11:1-9; Acts 2: 22-36, Romans 1: 3).

This prophecy was fulfilled with the coming of Jesus.
