MATT - From my studies I've found that even the current office of the church states that the current doctrine and philosophy followed by the congregation of the Church of Jesues Christ of Latter Day Saints is not in whole and absolute truth, but the closest thing to the true gospel yet available to man. Does this mean that there is another gospel waiting to be discovered?

JOEL - Everything we know about the gospel so far is absolutely true. But there is not "another Gospel waiting to be discovered"; just more of the same true Gospel that is yet to be revealed to us. As we understand it, God dispenses His eternal truths "line upon line, precept upon precept" (2 Nephi 28:30, Isaiah 28). Every ordinance and doctrine that is essential for us to be saved in the Kingdom of God have been revealed to us through the scriptures and the prophets. But there are still concepts and truths known only to God that He may reveal to us as He sees we are ready for it. These may come through the prophets of the church or they can come by personal revelation to individual members as they study and pray for understanding. For example, we have been told that people will be resurrected by the power of the priesthood, but God has not told us how that will be done yet. There is still a portion of the gold plates, that the Book of Mormon was translated from, that were sealed and are yet to be translated. There is much more to be learned from them. How did God create the universe and all living things? What is the exact nature of God? What is heaven like? How do you explain the thoughts and actions of my 15-year-old daughter? Many mysteries such as these are yet to be understood by man. But as we "hearken unto His precepts" (2 Nephi 28:30) He will give us more and more understanding of His ways.
